Impact Camp ’10

Youth Camps are always incredible! Returning from Impact for the first time I have formed the opinion that the camp is top notch. God is so good! Being filled with HIS joy in awesome services is unlike any other experience in this world.

Josh Joines, the Youth Pastor from Victoria, Texas who spoke, talked about many topics during the week with my favorite being LOVE. GOD is LOVE and I never become tired of hearing how much the God of the universe loves his children who are considered to be his masterpieces.

Although knowing God’s love is most important, putting on His love is at the top of the list too. Loving God and then loving people are the most important commandments according to Jesus. (Matthew 22:37-40)

Josh Joines taught on a key point in the decision to love people that love does not depend on the person you are loving; you are to LOVE the UNLOVABLE. Ask yourself are you going to live with compassion for others??? Jesus did!!!! Start making selfless sacrifices to show HIS LOVE today! :)

My Impartation Experience

Every year at Impartation church services amazing truths of God are revealed by incredibly gifted preachers to the people who attend the services at Victory Family Church. The teachers this year, Doug Jones and Keith Moore,  spoke presenting a great deal of deeper biblical truths.

I went to the meetings expecting with the desire to learn many new things. Coming out of the week I am realizing how greatly God can use a few simple days to impact the rest of the days and years to come. I have learned dozens of truths of God from His will, His healing, and even about His mercy. One thing that has stuck out in my head is the topic of lying.

I am still unsure how I can pick one point from the whole week, but what I have learned in the area of lying is like totally awesome! So here it is, in life, there is no choice but to tell the truth. Wow. I know! The idea is that simple. Keith Moore asked the audience to imagine the world without lies. Well, let’s think of my friend Suzy who no longer goes out under-age drinking  because when she arrives home she can not lie to her parents about what she has been doing.

To lie is to state something that one knows to be false; lies are a form of deception (of the devil). While Jesus is the way the TRUTH and the life,  his father God HATES  lies. Remember there is no such thing as a little white lie! You are deceiving someone even if you consider it to be in a “little” form. Love the truth more than anything else!

If you lie, then simply ask for forgiveness. We are all imperfect humans. Confess the phrase “I WILL NOT LIE.” Believe me on this one I am telling the truth better already!!!
